HOW UGANDANS SHOULD THINK ABOUT INTERIOR DESIGN .

interior design often mistakenly is thought of as the process of beautifying space and though this is apart of it there is more to it, other aspects of interior design include ;

• Mood setting , when putting together an interior one must ensure the space commands aparticular feel. if it's for business it must feel coperate , if it's abar it must hooze emotions and if it's a church it must feel abit spiritual. then we can say aspace works .

• Usability , additionally it must be usable . u imagine you have high end suit , feels and looks nyc but it rili does not fit you , it becomes useless. so as many Ugandans craft space they forget about how & who will use the space and what they intend to use the interior for. for interior design to be appreciated a dining room must facilitate eating food , kitchen must ensure cooking of the user's usual meals , aplay room must encourage play.

• Composition , if put on expensive high heels , then an equally expensive overall , and an equally expensive Mohawk hair style. u will look expensive but u will still look ugly. this is what Composition solves for interior designers. many locals buy expensive items even individually beautiful items but when they are put together to make aroom. they don't harmonize in any way, the items. fail to work together as a group. it takes effort but for an interior to work whole items must work with it from fittings , finishes , furnishings ,adornments/ art and their style must meet to form 1 whole.

• Maintainability, running costs of lighting hit many Ugandans different when they put up a chandelier with 60 bulbs , cleaning costs of cleaning in around sculptures without damaging them. when working to achieve beauty it's imperative you look forward during use to see what it will cost you to run ur house , ur bar , ur office in order to maintain the interior u have created.

• Ease of change , many of us never think of this phase. but interiors change as we grow old , as seasons change , purpose changes , interior items grow old. it's imperative one keeps in mind that an interior is never complete and every now and then . it will require to change.
